Mission and Scope

The Center for Electrochemical Engineering is affiliated with the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of South Carolina. Faculty and research personnel at the CEE have been providing research and consulting services in the area of electrochemical engineering to business, industry and government for more than 20 years. With the critical mass of qualified personnel present at a single campus, it felt more appropriate to bring them under a single organization. In this regard the Commission of Higher Education of the State of South Carolina had approved the creation of the Center for Electrochemical Engineering in the College of Engineering at the University of South Carolina, effective July 1, 1995. The Commission also allocated $500,000 as seed money to the Center. Our objective is to develop practical solutions to electrochemical engineering problems. In doing this, the CEE has built a worldwide reputation for the quality of its service and the integrity of its results.
