Research directors in participating departments may nominate any undergraduate researcher working under their supervision. Students must have their director's nomination to participate and a one-paragraph proposal describing their research goals. This ensures that the student's work in the RCS contributes to his or her research assignment and is consistent with the director's expectations.
The research directors must sign a completed nomination form for each student.
RCS faculty will provide feedback to each student's Research Advisor on the student's attendance, effort, and progress. The student's grade in the independent research course is entirely up to the Research Advisor.
Travel funds will be available to RCS participants who make presentations at professional meetings. A limited amount of money may be available for student stipends.
The Rubric
Faculty may find the RCS-designed rubric a useful tool for evaluating several different types of research deliverables. The rubric is split into three different parts, Style, Grammar and Organization.
You will find here the three-page rubric in a single .pdf document.
See the necessary forms for application to the RCS.
