RCS participant Albena Iotova was awarded "Outstanding Poster Presentation in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Geology and Physics" at the Sigma Xi Student Research Symposium and Eastern Colleges Science Conference in Philadelphia, PA.

Iotova conducts research under the direction of Dr. Roger Dougal and Dr. Lijun Gao in the Power Sources Lab in the Department of Electrical Engineering at USC. A preliminary patent application based on her research project, “Power enhancement of portable solar arrays using an optimum configuration”, has been filed. We congratulate Iotova on her impressive achievement.

Iotova's previous research includes work on permanent magnet brushless linear drives.
