Modeling in Virtual Test Bed

Virtual Test Bed (VTB) is a mathematical
simulation program. VTB allows the user to run simulations to
see how models, both mechanical and electrical, respond to different
inputs. This allows users to predict how actual mechanical and
electrical components will respond to different real world parameters. The Advanced Actuators Research Group (AARG)
is interested in developing new models for VTB using both C++
directly and by using an external program known as User-Defined Device (UDD). The UDD
program automatically builds the C++ for VTB.
The UDD program saves much time in the simulation process. For example, a member of the VTB team coded an induction machine with UDD in 2 days. If the code were to be written by hand, this process would have taken 2 to 3 months. The main objective of my project is to find how UDD works. To do this I must also learn how to alter the code in C++ and correctly alter settings to get working models. Once at a confident level, models for AARG may be written for fuel cell balance of plant systems, suspension systems, and camless engine technology.
