My research group has collaboration with several groups in the U.S. and Europe. We interact both with industry and research labs and universities. I also serve as a consultant to several companies. I would like to mention three of these, which have brought funding to USC. For the past 18 months I have been interacting closely with Elisha Technologies, Inc. in helping them understand and develop further their proprietary deposition process. As part of this effort, Elisha has funded me to the tune of $72,758 for 10 months during the review period. At present Elisha has extended this funding to the amount of $21,997 and the new project starts in Summer 2002. I expect Elisha to extend this project further and fund us more in future. Elisha is also in dialogue with the university’s Office of Technology Transfer to patent one of the deposition process developed in my laboratories. I also worked with Chema Technology Inc., to improve their copper plating process. I received funding in the amount of $3,384 for these efforts. I am also currently working with MMFX Corp. to evaluate their reinforcing steels for use in concrete bridges. I have received $17,277 from MMFX for this work. I helped Vulcan Chemicals to solve the anode problem in their chlorine-alkali plant in New Orleans. Here is a brief list of our collaborative efforts.
