How
to do a Citation Count? - July 10, 2004
Here is a short
note on how to do a citation count on a hypothetical faculty member,
the closest approximation to the one that NRC would produce.
-
Go to the ISI Web of Science Home Page [Click
Here].
-
Click the checkbox by "Science Citation Index Expanded" [If in
doubt, check all three]
-
Click "General Search".
-
In the "Author" box, type the [last name][space][first
initial][middle initial].
-
In the "Address" box, type the zip code of the university in
which the author is located.
-
Scroll down, if you like, to "Set limits and sort option" and
select "Article" in the center column.
-
Click "Search" [either above or below the boxes].
Please note that this will only work
if you have subscription to ISI Web of Science!
