Dongxia Liu is from Beijing, China. She got her bachelor’s degree of science from the Department of Chemical Engineering, Beijing University of Chemical Technology in 1993. She then joined a catalysis research group working in the petrochemical industry where she remained for 8 years before becoming a Ph. D student at the University of South Carolina in August, 2001. Dongxia’s current research focuses on using vibrational spectroscopies to study adsorption and characterization of nano-scale noble metal catalysts at solid catalyst-liquid interfaces. She would like to continue her research interest in the area of catalysis in industry after finishing her degree in May, 2006.
